Surface preparation Substrate preparation is decisive for adhesion of the coating. The glass surface to be coated must be clean and grease-free. Use Hesse Cleaning thinner ZD 101 to carefully clean the surface prior to application.
Comments on sanding If the Hesse PU Special primer DG 4744 is not applied to glass, a carrier sanding of grit 280 - 400 is recommended. Please apply a test coat under real conditions!
Yield per coat 5 - 10 m²/l

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.
Storage temperature 16 - 25 °C
Working temperature 20 °C
Particular instructions Hesse PU effect finishes, such as marble and raindrop effects, have to be applied in reverse order to achieve rear glass coating. It is also advisable that our Hesse UNA-COLOR DB 45245-(colour tone) be hardened at a mixing ratio (by volume) of 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001.
General instructions on workmanship PU lacquers should not be applied and dried at material and room-temperatures below 18 °C and 40 % RH. Ideal values are: 20 - 25 °C, 50 - 65 % RH. Deviations will result in drying or hardening errors. In order to avoid adhesion problems, please sand the PU lacquered surfaces before applying fresh lacquer and apply lacquer to the sanded surfaces as soon as possible. Old lacquer and hardener mixtures affect the surface quality (adhesion/resistance). Freshly bleached substrates must undergo intermediate drying for at least 48 h at 20 °C before coating with suitable PU lacquers. If stored correctly (at least 20 °C room temperature), the final hardness of the coating is achieved after a week.
Please apply a test coat under real conditions!

Contract installation of a glass partition with a marble-effect coating
Surface preparation: carefully clean and remove grease from the glass using Hesse Cleaning thinner ZD 101
Basecoat: 1 x 120 - 140 g/m² Hesse PU Special basecoat DG 4744, mixing ratio (by volume) 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001 and the addition of 5 - 10 % Thinner DV 494 or DV 4994 in relation to the lacquer/hardener mixture
Drying: at least 16 h / 20 °C
Prepare the desired colours for the marbling as follows: Hesse UNA-COLOR DB 45245-(colour tone), mixing ratio (by volume) 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001 and the addition of Thinner DV 490 or DV 4900 at a ratio of 1 : 5 in relation to the lacquer/hardener mixture.
Creating the effect: pat or dab on the different colours in irregular lines. Use crunched up greaseproof paper or preferably a natural sponge to moisten the surface with Hesse Marbling solution DV 4991 and apply it to the surface until the desired effect is achieved.
