Hesse PU Mirror effect lacquer DB 46334-M0966 is a light-fast, two-component PU Effect lacquer for glass coating. This fast-drying lacquer with its very good adhesion properties is particularly suitable for exceptional and creative surfaces on white glass. With little effort and by using the Hesse Effect agent DZ 4992-05856 combined with the mirror lacquer an antique effect can be achieved impressively.

Fields of application

DB 46334-M0966 can be used for the complete interior decoration for the living area on white glass, but as well on structured glass with a suitable protective top coating e.g. DB 42105-(colour tone).

Surface preparation Substrate preparation is decisive for adhesion of the coating. The glass surface to be coated must be clean and grease-free. Use Hesse Cleaning thinner ZD 101 to carefully clean the surface prior to application.

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.

Processing instructions The substrate must be cleaned and degreased thoroughly with Hesse Glass cleaner. The proper preparation of the substrate is decisive for the adhesion of the lacquer.
Particular instructions In case of back-varnishing of glass the inherent colour of the glass affects the subsequent colour tone and effect. If Hesse PU Mirror effect lacquer DB 46334-M0966 shall be used we recommend the application on white glass. Metallic lacquers must always be applied evenly. The application amount, application method and drying conditions affect the colour tone and the effect. If required, please make a test coating under practical conditions.
General instructions on workmanship PU lacquers should not be applied and dried at material and room-temperatures below 18 °C and 40 % RH. Ideal values are: 20 - 25 °C, 50 - 65 % RH. Deviations will result in drying or hardening errors. In order to avoid adhesion problems, please sand the PU lacquered surfaces before applying fresh lacquer and apply lacquer to the sanded surfaces as soon as possible. Old lacquer and hardener mixtures affect the surface quality (adhesion/resistance). Freshly bleached substrates must undergo intermediate drying for at least 48 h at 20 °C before coating with suitable PU lacquers. If stored correctly (at least 20 °C room temperature), the final hardness of the coating is achieved after a week.
Please apply a test coat under real conditions!

Furnishing project, structural glass
Surface preparation: thoroughly clean and remove grease from the structural glass using Hesse Glass cleaner ZD 101
Coating: 1 x 60 - 80 g/m² Hesse PU Mirror lacquer DB 46334-M0966, mixing ratio (by volume) 25 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0002
Intermediate drying: 15 - 30 min / 20 °C
Use a gauze cloth with light pressure to clean spray mist from the surfaces
Top coat: 1 x 100 - 120 g/m² Hesse PU Glass Colour lacquer DB 42105-1013, mixing ratio (by volume) 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001 and addition of 5 -10 % thinner DV 490 / DV 4900 to the lacquer/hardener mixture
Packable: after drying for at least 16 h / 20 °C.
Installation or gluing: after 5 d / 20 °C

Glass partition with antique effect
Surface preparation: thoroughly clean and remove grease from the glass using Hesse Glass cleaner ZD 101.
Effect: spray Hesse Effect agent DZ 4992-05856 thinly onto the edges of the glass surface. Allow brief intermediate drying and then achieve the desired effect by dabbing it with a piece of dampened greaseproof paper. Then coat at 60 - 80 g/m² using Hesse PU Mirror lacquer DB 46334-M0966, mixing ratio (by volume) 25 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0002.
Intermediate drying: 15 - 30 min / 20 °C.
Use a gauze cloth with light pressure to clean spray mist from the surfaces.
Top coat: 1 x 100 - 120 g/m² Hesse PU Glass Colour lacquer DB 42105-8004, mixing ratio (by volume) 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001 and addition of 5 -10 % Thinner DV 490 / DV 4900 to the lacquer/hardener mixture.
Packable: after drying for at least 16 h / 20 °C
Installation or gluing: after 5 d / 20 °C
