Fields of application

PICEA positive stains are used on European softwoods like pine, fir and larch. A significantly positive effect is achieved on sanded, brushed and hewn wood, just as desired on interior fittings and in furniture making.

Surface preparation The wood must be dry, dust-free and grease-free. European softwoods are used as substrates. The woods can be sanded, sandblasted, brushed or hewn.

Finishing Stains in the WN range can be coated with suitable PU, CN or HYDRO lacquers, as opposed to stains in the WNS range with PU and CN lacquers. The first coat must be completely dry before the next coat is applied. Low temperatures, low air exchange, high humidity and large application quantities all inhibit drying.
Comments on sanding The bare wood can optionally be dampened. After drying overnight, sand or smooth.
Yield per coat 13 - 21 m²/l

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.

Processing instructions Apply lightly and evenly by spraying without spreading. Do not forcibly dry. Stir stains well before and during processing.
Particular instructions Saponify resinous woods (e.g. pine, red pine) with Hesse wood soap HBV 243 before staining. All stains from the same range can be mixed with one another.
General instructions on workmanship Trial staining of the original sanded wood with original lacquering should be carried out under real conditions. Only use stains from one batch for any one job. Do not pour soiled stains back into the original container. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Dried-on stain residue can be removed with thinners such as ZD 82.
