ZD 4540 is a fast drying, transparent and aromatic-free 1C special sealer with great accentuation and brilliance. This product is therefore ideal for use on exclusive and/or exotic parquet flooring to intensify the individual colour effect. Its fast drying properties, excellent wood wetting and avoidance of the edge-bonding effect make this special product a fast drying alternative to oil-based coatings. Further sealing is generally undertaken using Hesse HYDRO sealants.

Fields of application

As a special sealer for parquet flooring. Under Hesse parquet lacquers, in order to prevent the risk of lateral bonding with wood plaster, edge lamellae, floor boards and Parquet laying on underfloor heating, etc. Ideal on exclusive or exotic parquet flooring for intensifying the accentuation of the wood beneath HYDRO Parquet sealant.
This product is not suitable for applications within the scope of ChemVOCFarbV or of EU Directive 2004/42/EC (Decopaint).

Surface preparation Professionally laid and prepared parquet or corresponding wooden flooring. The floor must first be sanded back to the bare wood and be dry and free from oil, grease, wax, silicones and sanding dust. Close joints beforehand properly with WOOD-FILL HS 11, sand surface and remove dust thoroughly.The quality and uniformity of the wood sanding are crucial to the final surface finish. Ensure uniformity of the surface and edge sanding! Remove dust properly after sanding.

Lacquer sanding (grit) from - to 120
Finishing Once sufficiently dry, apply HYDRO parquet lacquers such as Hesse PURA-ONE HDE 51-x(gloss level) or Hesse PURA-NATURA HDE 52-0. After sufficient drying of the top coat provide initial protection using Hesse PROTECT-CLEANER PR 90.
Comments on sanding Do not sand this special sealer.

Processing instructions Do not pour the special sealer directly onto the bare wood, but apply it from a suitable application container. Apply the special sealer evenly using a suitable roller. Large areas should be coated by several people at the same time. Do not sand this special sealer!
Particular instructions Please test the bonding between all coats! Do not sand this special sealer! Please follow the instructions in TRGS 617.
General instructions on workmanship It is always advisable to conduct a test coating under practical conditions in order to assess the colour effect, bond and drying process. Cleaning and care instructions: please observe the care instructions as per DIN 18356. Wipe the parquet with a slightly damp but not wet cloth. Please use neutral, silicone-free, ammonia free and non-abrasive cleaners. Regular care and cleaning with Hesse PROTECT-CLEANER PR 90 and Hesse INTENSIVE-CLEANER PR 91 increases the life of the seal.

Sanded down to the bare wood, graduating down to 120 grit / screen with subsequent dust removal.
Priming: 1 x 80 -100 g/m² Hesse Special sealer ZD 4540 using a suitable roller
Drying: 30- 45 min / 20 °C
Sealing: using a suitable roller 2 x 100 - 120 g/m² Hesse PURA-ONE HDE 51-2, mixing ratio 10 : 1 with HDR 71.
Intermediate drying at least 3 - 4 h at 20 °C room temperature, preferably 16 h / 20 °C, and with adequate air circulation.
Lacquer sanding with a single disc orbital sander and 120 - 150 grit sanding screen with subsequent dust removal.
Accessible with care after drying for at least 16 h / 20 °C room temperature and with adequate air circulation.
Full resilience after at least 7 d / 20 °C room temperature and with adequate air circulation.
