Hesse PU Multicoat lacquer DE 4500x(gloss level)-0004 is a clear, 2-component PU acrylic resin lacquer. This light-fast and aromatic-free Multicoat lacquer is ideal for basecoats and top coating to achieve open-pored surface processes. With its excellent resistance against chemical and mechanical demands, it passes inspection according to food-related aspects of Art. 3 EG No.1935/2004 and Articles 30/31, Section1 of the German Food and Feed Code (LFGB) above gloss level matt (Gloss level 2) to high gloss (Gloss level 9).

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.

Processing instructions When lacquering critical carriers, we recommend hardening the lacquer/hardener mixture by 5 : 1 with the PU hardener DR 4070.
Particular instructions To prevent problems of bonding between the coating layers, the surface of clear lacquer that has already been applied and sanded back must be coated with the desired subsequent coating material within one working day (8 h at 20 °C). Repeated slight sanding will be required if this time is exceeded! Please test the lacquer under real conditions, if necessary.
General instructions on workmanship PU lacquers should not be applied and dried at material and room-temperatures below 18 °C and 40 % RH. Ideal values are: 20 - 25 °C, 50 - 65 % RH. Deviations will result in drying or hardening errors. In order to avoid adhesion problems, please sand the PU lacquered surfaces before applying fresh lacquer and apply lacquer to the sanded surfaces as soon as possible. Old lacquer and hardener mixtures affect the surface quality (adhesion/resistance). Freshly bleached substrates must undergo intermediate drying for at least 48 h at 20 °C before coating with suitable PU lacquers. If stored correctly (at least 20 °C room temperature), the final hardness of the coating is achieved after a week.
Please apply a test coat under real conditions!
