Hesse PU Multicoat lacquer "extra matt" DE 42590-0007 is a transparent, two-component PU lacquer with an acrylate-resin base. This product is resistant, light fast and formulated with light protection. It can be used on bleached woods. It also meets French test standard M1 (fire behaviour) as well as the test certificate for flame retardance according to DIN 4102 B1.

Fields of application

DE 42590-0007 can be used in restaurants, kitchens and bathrooms. The product is suitable for surfaces needing the highest resistance to chemical and mechanical demands. It can also be applied on wenge, even if the wood has been bleached and stained. In parallel DE 42590-0007  be used in different hardening versions depending on use. The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.

Processing instructions Hardening the lacquer / hardener mixture (by volume) at 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4070 or 10 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4071 is advisable for coating critical substrates or to optimise chemical and mechanical resistance. Hardening the lacquer / hardener mixture (by volume) at 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001 after prior mixing of 5 % glass lacquer additive EL 460-0025 to the lacquer components also enables direct lacquering on glass. The glass surface to be lacquered should be cleaned properly beforehand using Hesse Glass cleaner ZD 101.
Particular instructions Please do not use the extra matt formulation DE 42590-0007 as a multicoat lacquer, only as a 1-layer cover coat! Hesse PU Multicoat lacquer "extra matt" DE 42590-0007 is perfectly suited for coating onto Hesse PU Coloured lacquer DB 4524x(gloss level)-(colour tone) giving an elegant matt appearance combined with the required metal-marking resistance. Hesse PU Coloured lacquer DB 4524x(gloss level)-(colour tone) can also be used to tone down Hesse PU Multicoat lacquer "extra matt" DE 42590-0007. Pre-priming is possible depending on the desired surface finish and substrate material, e.g. with the DE 4259x(gloss level) range or Hesse basecoats DG 4741, DG 4734, DG 4717-0004, DG 4768-0004 and DG 4763.
General instructions on workmanship PU lacquers should not be applied and dried at material and room-temperatures below 18 °C and 40 % RH. Ideal values are: 20 - 25 °C, 50 - 65 % RH. Deviations will result in drying or hardening errors. In order to avoid adhesion problems, please sand the PU lacquered surfaces before applying fresh lacquer and apply lacquer to the sanded surfaces as soon as possible. Old lacquer and hardener mixtures affect the surface quality (adhesion/resistance). Freshly bleached substrates must undergo intermediate drying for at least 48 h at 20 °C before coating with suitable PU lacquers. If stored correctly (at least 20 °C room temperature), the final hardness of the coating is achieved after a week.
Please apply a test coat under real conditions!
