DB 4564x(gloss level)-(colour tone) is a light fast PU acrylate colour lacquer that is suitable for coating glass in indoor and outdoor areas, but also for direct coating of metals, such as chrome, stainless steel and aluminium. This product is available in virtually all colour tones. In combination with Adhesion primer TG 5242 our DB 4564x(gloss level)-(colour tone) can also be used on sheet metal even in outdoor areas.

Surface preparation Substrate preparation is decisive for adhesion of the coating. The glass surface to be coated must be clean and grease-free. Use Hesse Cleaning thinner ZD 101 to carefully clean the surface prior to application.We recommend Cleaning thinner DV 490 / DV 4900 for cleaning sheet metal prior to coating for external use.
Finishing After sufficient drying and immediately after interim sanding with lacquer from the same product range.
Yield per coat 7 - 8 m²/l

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.

Particular instructions When painting on metal, if necessary, perform a test coating!
General instructions on workmanship PU Glass colour lacquers should not be applied and dried at material and room temperatures below 18 °C und 40 % RH; ideal values: 20 - 25 °C, 50 - 65 % RH. Deviations result in issues with drying or curing. Old lacquer / hardener mixtures impair the surface quality (bond / resistances). The final hardness of the glass coating will be achieved after one week given proper storage (at least 20 °C room temperature). Conduct a trial coating under practical conditions as necessary!

Example 1:

Glass partition wall (indoors and outdoors), light green, as per colour tone RAL 6027
Surface preparation: carefully clean and remove grease from the glass using Cleaning thinner ZD 101
Coating: 1 x 130 - 150 g/m² UNA-THIX-COLOR Glass colour lacquer DB 45645-6027, mixing ratio (by volume) 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001 and the addition of 10 % Thinner DV 4900
Packable: after at least 16 h / 20 °C
Ready for assembly or gluing: 5 d / 20 °C

Example 2:

Coating of sheet metal panels for outdoor areas, iron grey, as per colour tone RAL 7011
Surface preparation: carefully clean and remove grease from the sheet metal panels using Thinner DV 490 / DV 4900
Coating: 1 x 20 - 40 g/m² using Adhesion primer TG 5242
Intermediate drying: at least 3 h / 20 °C room temperature with sufficient air circulation.
Coating: 1 x 120 g/m² UNA-THIX-COLOR Glass colour lacquer DB 45645-7011, mixing ratio (by volume) 5 : 1 with PU Hardener DR 4076-0001 and the addition of 10 - 15 % PU Thinner DV 4900 to the lacquer/hardener mixture
Packable: after at least 16 h / 20 °C
Ready for assembly or gluing: 5 d / 20 °C
