PURA-ONE features an especially abrasion resistant and tough surface, which moreover also exhibits very good chemical resistance. Our transparent 2C-HYDRO multicoat lacquer is in addition well bodied and light fast. Its wide application range extends from coating wooden staircases through to sealing of parquet in the fitting out of ship interiors. This product can be used on bleached woods. The lacquer material is certified by the IMO and is an emission-tested building product under DIBt principles​.

Surface preparation Professionally laid and prepared parquet or corresponding wooden flooring. The floor must first be sanded back to the bare wood and be dry and free from oil, grease, wax, silicones and sanding dust.

Comments on sanding The quality and uniformity of the wood and of the lacquer sanding are crucial to the final surface finish. After sanding, remove dust as prescribed.

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.

Processing instructions The floor must first be sanded back to the bare wood and be dry and free from oil, grease, wax, silicones and sanding dust. For renovation or repairs of previously sealed surfaces: Perform a test coating to determine whether the current substrate can be sealed with PURA-ONE. After suitable drying, test the bonding of the complete coating! Shake the lacquer well! Add the correct hardener to the organic lacquer container and immediately shake well for 1 - 2 min. Do not mix in the application container. The mixing ratio must also be accurately observed in the case of partial amounts, and the mixture well shaken. Press the strainer into the outlet opening, fill the lacquer / hardener mixture into a suitable application container and work from this! Only use a mixture within the given application time. Never store product mixed with hardening agent in closed containers. Do not use any electrical stirring devices; risk of forming foam or bubbles! Clean work equipment with water.. Dried lacquer residue can be removed with Hesse CLEANING-AGENT DV 9.
Particular instructions To achieve “R10” slip resistance according to DIN 51130 you need to add 10 % of Hesse HZ 75 anti-slip additive to the final sealing coat! Please shake / stir the additive in well. Critical substrates such as wood block, on-edge lamellar parquet, floor boards, parquet flooring on underfloor heating, etc. require proper pre-treatment with HG 22 / HG 24 to minimise the risk of lateral bonding. To avoid the possibility of staining, please only renovate parquet flooring, which was previously treated with solvent-based systems, with solvent-based systems again! Clean work equipment with water. Dried lacquer residue can be removed with Hesse CLEANING-AGENT DV 9. Films or carpets must not be placed on the parquet flooring until it has completely hardened. Shake the lacquer well! Spraying: possible; however the addition of water is required. When the hardening agent is well worked in, adjust the spraying viscosity with up to 5 % water. Personal protective equipment and adherence to the instructions for the spraying application.
This product must only be combined with other approved and technically suitable products when used as a flame retardant coating material for seagoing vessels according to the latest version of SOLAS 74/88 Reg. II-2/3, II-2/5 and II-2/6, IMO Resolution MSC.36(63)-(1994 HSC-Code) 7 and IMO Resolution MSC.97(73)-(2000 HSC-Code) 7. The maximum application amount in wet film when using this product as a flame retardant coating material for seagoing vessels is 2 x 100 g/m². “A risk assessment was undertaken according to Directive 2014/90/EU, Annex II, Section 3. This coating does not pose a physical risk to health nor a risk to the environment when cured and dried.”
General instructions on workmanship
The moisture content should be between 8 - 12 %. Please do not use and dry HYDRO lacquers at material and room temperatures below 18 °C. The ideal humidity for painting is between 55 and 65 %. In order to avoid problems with bonding, please sand the lacquered surfaces before applying fresh lacquer and apply lacquer to the sanded surfaces as soon as possible. Woods with a very high wax content such as teak can have a negative effect on bonding in some circumstances. Water-soluble wood contents such as from ash and tannic acid from woods such as oak can initiate changes in colour tones and discolouration in the lacquer. For this reason we recommend a trial lacquering be undertaken as a matter of principle to assess the colour effect, bonding and drying progression under real conditions! Notes on cleaning and care: Please observe the care instructions in accordance with DIN 18356. Wipe parquet with a slightly damp, not wet, cloth. Please use only neutral, silicone-free, salmiac-free and non-abrasive cleaners. Regular care and cleaning with Hesse PROTECT-CLEANER PR 90 and Hesse INTENSIVE-CLEANER PR 91 increases the life of the sealing.

Parquet flooring, solid oak tiles. Wood sanding grit 100 with subsequent dust removal. Sealing: 2 x 100 - 120 g/m² Hesse PURA-ONE using a suitable roller. Intermediate drying for at least 2 - 3 h / 20 °C room temperature with sufficient air circulation. Intermediate cutting back with a single disc orbital sander and 120 - 150 abrasive screen with subsequent dust removal. Accessible after drying for at least 8 h / 20 °C room temperature and with adequate air circulation. Full resilience after at least 7 d / 20 °C room temperature and with adequate air circulation.
