Especially colour-stable HYDRO-PU Colour lacquer that has been developed specifically for spray coating onto glass. Its innovative formulation makes this product extremely light fast and opaque. Even a low application quantity produces an opaque layer of colour lacquer with even pigment distribution. An extremely waterproof and scratch resistant glass lacquer surface is achieved, which can even be subjected to high chemical and mechanical demands. It is even possible to use forced drying to fully cure the surface within a few minutes.

Surface preparation Substrate preparation is decisive for adhesion of the glass coating. The glass surface to be coated must be clean and grease-free. Carefully clean the glass surface prior to application, e.g. using Hesse Glass cleaner HS 6601.

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.

Processing instructions Substrate preparation is decisive for adhesion of the glass coating. The glass surface to be coated must be clean and grease-free. Carefully clean the glass surface prior to application, e.g. using Hesse Glass cleaner HS 6601. Prior to application, stir in the cross-linker at the stated ratio and work it in well. Note the limited pot life. You can continue to use hardened material by mixing it with fresh material and then adding further cross-linker. Products from the same range can be mixed with one another. Clean tools with water. For removal of dried lacquer residues use Hesse HYDRO Cleaning agent HV 6917. In case of combined coatings (HYDRO- and solvent based lacquers) rinse application tools with Hesse HYDRO Reversing agent HV 6904. Add hardener slowly whilst stirring and adjust the spray viscosity by adding water or HYDRO Optimizer HZ 70, if required. Maximum additive volume 5 %.
Particular instructions The final hardness of the coating is achieved after one week in correct storage conditions (at least 20 °C room temperature). Always seal opened containers light-tight and air-tight to prevent skin forming. Remove dried lacquer residue using a sieve. Products in containers should be sieved before application. Please build up a full trial coating on the original glass under real conditions. The glass colour can affect the later colour tone when coating behind glass. Please take this into account in selection of the glass.
Please only affix lacquered glass panels after adequate final hardening of the coating. The following adhesive tapes and adhesives have already been tested for suitability, albeit it is advisable to conduct your own tests, since our recommendations only relate to the batch of adhesive made available to us: 3M VHB 5201, AGC Silicone glass adhesive FIX-IN SL, Beko Silicon pro4, blue-yellow Multikraft extrem, Henkel Pattex PL 300, LAKMA silicone adhesive, Lohmann Duplomont 918, Marston-Domsel MD-MS polymer adhesive, OTTO COLL Allbert, SPADA Vitamount 125 SS-70, TESA No. 04957, TESA No. 04965, Tremco Illbruck mirror adhesive FA 140, Würth saBesto mirror adhesive.
General instructions on workmanship When working with HYDRO materials, parts that come into contact with the material must be made from non-rusting material. Do not apply or dry HYDRO lacquers at material or room temperatures below 18 °C. The ideal humidity level when coating is between 55 % and 65 %. During the lacquering process, humidity that is too low leads to shrinkage cracks, humidity that is too high hinders drying. The coating reaches its final hardness after being stored for a week at a minimum of 20 °C. Always conduct a sample lacquering to evaluate the colour effect, adhesion and drying process under real conditions.

Application by spaying machine: 1 x 130–160 g/m² Hesse HYDRO-PU Colour glass lacquer HDB 57485-6001, mixing ratio 9by volume) 100 : 3 with Hesse HYDRO Cross-linker HDR 5002 and the mixture thinned with 5% water.
Drying: 24 h / 20 °C or forced drying (UL, IR drying and cooling) at temperatures up to 80 °C.
Mountable or affixable: after at least 5 d drying / storage at 20 °C.
