Substrate sanding grits from-to 150 - 240
Finishing Recoatable after at least 2 h drying time with Hesse CN or PU lacquers by spraying, rolling, brushing or curtain coating. After 6 h drying, can be coated with the next coat of suitable 1C or 2C HYDRO lacquers such as HYDRO TOP-SIEGEL HE 6509x(gloss level) or HYDRO-PUR PRIMO HDE 5400x(gloss level) by spraying or flow coating. Complete drying must be guaranteed prior to recoating. Drying is delayed by low temperatures, reduced exchange of air, high humidity and large application amounts.
Comments on sanding A graduated raw wood sanding is recommended. The quality of the sanding is decisive for the quality of the final result. The bare wood can optionally be dampened. After drying overnight, sand or smooth.
Yield per coat 17 - 33 m²/l

Processing instructions Stir stains well before and during processing. Formulated for specific application methods. Apply lightly and evenly by spraying without spreading. Do not forcibly dry. Further details on application, thinning and the like are available on request. We recommend small spray nozzle sizes for stains that are to be sprayed but not subsequently wiped. Although large spray nozzle sizes are recommended when spraying stains that are subsequently to be wiped.
Particular instructions Hesse stains are matched to each type of wood in terms of colour tone and application. Additional types of application and woods are available. All stains from the same range can be mixed together. Lighten by adding water. Can be tinted with colour concentrates in the range: BF 1xxx.
General instructions on workmanship Trial staining of the original sanded wood with original lacquering should be carried out under real conditions. Only use stains from one batch for any one job. Do not pour soiled stains back into the original container. Clean tools with water immediately after use. Dried-on stain residue can be removed with thinners such as ZD 82. Saponify resinous woods (e.g. pine, red pine) with Hesse wood soap HBV 243 before staining. Good light fastness can be obtained depending on the type of wood, colour tone and depth of colour. This can be further improved by suitable coating with lacquers containing light protection agents, sun blocking qualities are to be recommended. Base coat stains or colour stains should be used if there are increased demands for light fastness.
