Information on use

Drying 3 h / 20 °C
Surface preparation The wood must be dry, dust-free and grease-free. Saponify resinous woods (e.g. pine, red pine) with Hesse wood soap HBV 243 before staining. Pretreatment with a chemical BH 59-21490 pre-stain is required.
Substrate sanding grits from-to 100 - 120
Finishing Do not forcibly dry. Complete drying must be guaranteed prior to recoating. Drying is delayed by low temperatures, reduced exchange of air, high humidity and large application amounts. After thorough drying, the stains are coated over using light stable Hesse PU lacquers.
Yield per coat 14 - 22 m²/l

The spreading rate is heavily dependent on the type of application. The specifications relate to a liter of ready-for-use product, if necessary including hardener and thinner.
Storage temperature 5 - 30 °C
Working temperature 20 °C
conditions of transport frost-free - up to a maximum of 35 °C
Processing instructions Before application the stain must be thinned with water at a mixing ratio of at least: 1 : 10 Spraying: spray with restricted stain supply and wipe lightly, if necessary.
Manual application: apply a thin layer using a synthetic sponge, allow it to absorb briefly and then remove the excess.
Dipping: allow the product to be briefly absorbed after dipping and then remove the excess with a synthetic sponge.
Particular instructions Maximum mixing ratio when lightening the stain with water: 1 : 10. The stain result will depend on the quality of the wood and where it was grown. The colour tone of pine turns a light tan, whereas spruce takes on a greenish shade.
General instructions on workmanship Trial staining of the original sanded wood with original coating should be carried out under real conditions. Do not pour soiled stains back into the original containers. Clean tools with water immediately after use.
